Brief Biography Of Thomas A. Hughes

Tom was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. After serving in The United States Navy with American Forces Radio in 1973, he attended The Ohio State University, studying Psychology and Communications.
From there he had the opportunity to manage and operate several movie theaters in Columbus. Late r he worked as a full time musician doing session work and performing with two popular local bands.
In the late 80s he began his career in television and radio, starting with a small low-power TV station and ending with the top rated Oldies radio station WCOL-FM.
In 1992 he created the consumer advocate "position" marketing campaign for a small, locally owned collision repair shop in Columbus, Ohio. It turned out to be the right thing at the right time.
By the end of 1993, the shop's growth had more than doubled. Soon the success story was being featured in all the top industry trade magazines across the country.
By the mid-90s the shop was recognized as one of the top 100 most influential shops in the country due to its "consumer focused" advertising campaign.
As a result, Tom has worked with over 100 Independent Auto Body and Auto Glass businesses throughout the United States, Canada and Australia.
He currently consults with a select group of Independent Auto Body and Auto Glass shops, as well as several local service based companies.
In 2006 Tom, and his wife, Tina, along with their longhaired mini-dachshund, Artie, said "Goodbye Columbus" and moved to The Villages, Florida.
